The Chicago flag is a symbol of the city. The three white sections represent the north, west and south sides. The blue stripes represent the north branch of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and the other is for the South Branch of the river and the Great Canal. The four stars are for Fort Dearborn, the great Chicago fire, The World's Columbian Exposition and the Century of Progress Exposition.
